Dr. Sunita Asthana is working as a Consultant Dietitian and Head, Department of Dietetics. She did her PhD from Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi in the field of Nutrition.
Internship Training in Dietetics is also provided to the Interns in the Department of Dietetics under supervision of Dr. Sunita Asthana.

Dr. Asthana has extensive expertise as a Dietitian. She is a certified Diabetic Educator. Dr. Sunita Asthana has previously worked as a dietitian at the Heritage Hospital in Varanasi. She has given invited lectures on the therapeutic implications of nutrition in over 150 CMEs. Her approach is focused on scientific research and rational reasoning, as well as the patients’ fundamental nutritional requirements. Dr. Asthana also served as Director of the Center for Home Science at MMPG in Haridwar. In addition to her expertise as a Dietitian, she has over 15 years of teaching, research, and administrative experience. She has published several research articles in prestigious journals and received numerous awards and recognitions.
